The difference between one man and another is not mere ability...
it is energy.
~Thomas Arnold
(1795-1842, British educator, scholar)
I love this quote. I know there were/are several situations in my student career and professional career that reflect this. There have been many times that I was not the smartest or most qualified person for the task, but I loaded in a positive attitude and a certain stubbornness to see the project through to completion. What do you all think about this?
Today I head out for the coast. Yay! I am staying with a high school friend of Mom's, Stuart. (Holla, Stu!) He's been gracious enough to take me in tonight so I can extend my trip to the beach by day and not feel like I am driving there only to turn around and come back (Monday). He's the Papa Bear type. :)
Enough jabber... I've got to finish packing!
Peace be with you on this Good Friday,
J.

Quote of the Day 04/02/2007
How monotonous the sounds of the forest would be if the music came only from the Top Ten birds.
~Dan Bennett
How true! I love this quote because it's a great example of *why* we should embrace diversity everyday...

Happenings
To make up for the last few lazy weekends, I've been a whirlwind this weekend. I unpacked three boxes, straightened up some junk that's been lying around my bedroom for 5 months, washed bed linens and washed all my clothes for next week. Whew! Oh, and I scrubbed down my bathroom...
I did all this because I am traveling to the beach next weekend. As I was knee deep in cleansers, I began to wonder why I always get the urge to clean my house before going on a trip. I know others do, too. What's up with that? Then it dawned on me: if I don't make it back for some reason, at least my living quarters are clean for whomever tromps through there after me! Aack! What's up with that? I think it's the same as your mother warning to wear clean underwear... just in case. Fortunately, no one ever had to tell me to wear clean underwear.
Having said all that, I want to point out that I do not dwell on death. Quite the opposite! Since I don't have a morose outlook, I just thought it was rather curious... this compunction to tidy my living space. Also, I think it has to do with wanting to come back to a clean house. That always makes me feel good.
On reflection of the last quote I posted, I think I would make the big leap to live and work in the UK. If I knew I couldn't fail, the money and the job would be magically available to me. In other words, Security... with a capital S! I'm not sure I would stay there for the rest of my life, but I would love to try it. Right now I can't even afford to move down the street! Lol! Maybe one day the path will be laid bare for me to walk. For now, I dream about it.
Speaking of dreams, have any of you had any interesting dreams lately?

P.S.~ University of Florida is playing Ohio State Monday for the NCAA championship. Go Gators!! (Thanks, Dad, for the correction. I'll get with the program one of these days!)
P.S.S.~ Elton John will be in concert in Greenville, SC on May4th. Anyone interested in going with me??? Let me know soon... the tickets went on sale Saturday and I want to get the best (cheap) tickets I can... I simply adore EJ! He always gives great concert. :)
